The Rio Grande county is unique in that the vast majority of land is publicly owned and available for outdoor recreation.

This includes 4 wheel drive vehicles, off highway vehicles (OHV), ATVs, mountain bikes, snowmobiles etc.

There are countless miles of trails for exploration. One major trailhead is located just a half a mile from Peacock Meadows.
